White Rock gymnast Abby Strand made the most of a recent trip to Prince George, placing second overall in her age group at the B.C. Gymnastics Championships, which were staged April 5-7.
On her way to her second-place all-around finish, Strand – a Grade 7 student at White Rock Elementary – placed second on floor and pommel horse, and was fourth on parallel bars.
Strand, who trains with the Langley Gymnastics Foundation at the Langley Events Centre, is now set to compete at Western Canadian Championships in Winnipeg, from May 3-4.
