Cloverdale native Parker Wotherspoon is in Finland, playing for Canada at the International Ice Hockey Federation’s World Under-18 Championship tournament.

A 6’, 177 lbs. defenceman, Wotherspoon is among 25 players invited to Finland. One of six defencemen, he earned an assist in a 7-2 win over Denmark in a pre-tournament game

Canada played its first game of the tournament today against Sweden.

Wotherspoon, the younger brother of Calgary Flames prospect Tyler Wotherspoon, recently completed his rookie season with the Tri-City Americans of the Western Hockey League. He played in 62 games, scoring two goals and assisting on 16 others while earning 74 penalty minutes.
