WRCA Warriors win, qualify for provincials

WRCA punched its ticket to the big dance after a 97-78 home-court victory over the Enver Creek Cougars Monday night.

WRCA punched its ticket to the big dance after a 97-78 home-court victory over the Enver Creek Cougars Monday night.

Tyus Allen and Vartan Tanelian led the Warriors with 27 and 22 points, respectively. Peter Spangehl and Sam Ykema each had eight rebounds.

WRCA was the only south-end team to win Monday; Tamanawis fell 72-40 to W.J. Mouat, and Lord Tweedsmuir lost 87-50 to Walnut Grove.

WRCA, Mouat, Yale and Walnut Grove have secured four of the eight Fraser Valley berths at provincials, with eight more schools – including Tweedsmuir and Tamanawis – left to vie for the final four spots beginning tonight (Thursday).
