A group of girls from the Peninsula district Girl Guides, joined by a few Beaver Scouts, placed more than 1,500 poppies on grave markers of veterans at Victory Memorial Friday morning.

The girls will be back at the cemetery Saturday, for Remembrance Day, offering coffee and treats to residents visiting the family members resting at the cemetery.
