RHEAD, Clarence Alfred

April 7, 1921-February 26, 2009

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of

Clarence Alfred Rhead. He is lovingly remembered by his wife Joan; children Mark

(Merrilyn), Deborah (Don); grandchildren Laura, Sean (Maria), Robert and Brett. Clare was born and raised in Vancouver as part of a large, Christian family. For the

majority of his working career, Clare was purchasing manager at Park and Tilford Distilleries in North Vancouver. In his 25 years there, he was instrumental in the establishment of the Park and Tilford Gardens. Clare was a person of high

integrity with a strong work ethic. Clare was a meticulous organizer in both his work and home life. He took pleasure working on various projects around the house and in helping neighbors, family and friends, whatever the need. Post retirement, Clare remained active and continued to work on his own business. He enjoyed traveling with his wife, many family events and weekly golf games with close friends. Clare was very

involved in the genealogy of both the Rhead and Mortimer clans. He was interested in the history of Vancouver, demonstrated by his collection of

articles and photos in the

archives at the Vancouver Museum. He was a good man. He was a great man to his family; he was all about family. A memorial service in celebration of Clare's life will be held at Victory Memorial Park

Funeral Chapel 14831-28th Ave. Surrey, on Sunday, March 8th at 2 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the BC Cancer

Society.
