PRATT – David William passed away Thurs., November 26th 2009 at the age of 79. Born December 17, 1929 in Birtle Manitoba, David is survived by his loving wife June Pratt and their children: Paula, Geoff and Julianne and Brothers Brian and Ed Pratt and brother-in law Harry Baedak and many nieces and nephews; predeceased by his sister Eileen and brother Dennis.
David enjoyed his work at Sask. Power from 1959 to 1967 and at BC Hydro from 1967 to 1988. While living in Vancouver he actively participated in organizations outside of his work, he did two terms as a Vancouver School Board Trustee. When he retired to White Rock in 1989 he continued his appreciation for making fine wine and fine friends and enjoyed many good times on his back deck, or golfing.
David had many passions in his life: practicing law, political debate, wine-making, curling, barbershop singing; playing the violin and golfing. David was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, friend, and community member and he will be missed.
The memorial will be at 2pm Saturday, December 5th 2009 at Crescent United Church: 2756 127 Street Surrey BC. The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff of the Palliative Care ward, Peace Arch Hospital. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Peace Arch Hospice Society, Peace Arch Hospital Foundation and/or the Cancer Foundation of BC.
