Doreen Mary, nee Molloy was born on July 3, 1920 in Quebec and died on November 18, 2003 in White Rock, B.C. Predeceased by her husband of 54 years, Roland John Harvey in 1999 and her grandson, Alan John Harvey in 2002, she is survived by her daughter Kathleen Bigsby, Vancouver, and three sons: Michael (Kathy) of Edmonton, Peter (Sharon) of Armstrong, and Denis (Joanne) of Armstrong; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother Philip (Danuta) Molloy of Victoria, her brother-in-law Gerald (Jean) Harvey of Australia and her sister-in-law Angela (Don) McLeod of Burnaby and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mother received her BHSc from the University of Toronto in 1940 and served in the RCAF 1942 - 1945. While with the Air Force in Nova Scotia, she met and married Roland.

Mother was a tireless volunteer working for her children's schools, the Red Feather (later United Way) campaigns in South Surrey, the VON Auxiliary in the 1950's and 60's and was a member of the first Archdiocesan School Board established in the mid 60's. She and her husband spent 17 years working in developing countries: Chile, Peru, Ghana, Belize and Dominica. When they returned to South Surrey in 1985 both were active volunteers for the Canadian Cancer Society and the White Rock Concert Society.

Mother derived much pleasure from playing bridge and from her involvement with the Canadian Federation of University Women, White Rock/Surrey Branch.

Funeral Mass was celebrated at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, November 21, 2003 at Good Shepherd Roman Catholic Church, 2250 - 150 Street, Surrey, B.C. In lieu of flowers, friends may make donations to the Canadian Cancer Society in Mother's memory.
