Lily Maria, born Maramaros-sziget, Hungary, February 6, 1919, passed away peacefully January 2, 2004. Predeceased by husband Bela Emil Leviczky MD in 1979. Survived by daughters Nori Leviczky, Gabriella (Murray) Morrison, Christine (David) Riek and grandchildren Aaron Morrison (Kimberley Gardner), Emma Riek and stepson Peter Schroeder.
Dr. Leviczky and Lily emigrated from Hungary in 1956 and worked extremely hard to provide support and education for their family in Canada. Lily was an avid hiker, reader, music lover, bird lover and gardener, and had a strong sense of fun. She will be fondly remembered by family and dear friends Klara Patriasz, Teresa Sauder, Ruth Liebkowsky, Juliane Fuchs, Karla Maidstone and Elizabeth Frenner. Special thanks to Dr. Brian Hunt for making possible these past 13 years, and to Dr. Albert Lamprecht and the staff of Peace Arch Hospital for their loving care of Lily. The family also thanks all the wonderful home support workers from West Coast Health Care Services for their compassion and companionship during the past 2 years.
