Ronald Wilfred (Ron) passed away on November 29, 2003 at Peace Arch Hospital in White Rock, B.C. in his 85th year. Ron will be sadly missed by his wife Joan; by daughter Valorie and husband Barry Samells of Washago, Ontario; daughter Janet and husband Neil and their daughters Emily, Anne and Mary Mather of Toronto, Ontario; son Greg and wife Ethel of Edmonton, Alberta; and son Doug and wife Judith and their daughters Laura and Natasha of Kowloon, Hong Kong. Survived by his sisters Margaret McGill of Regina, Saskatchewan and Viola Petrie of Red Deer, Saskatchewan and fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews of Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario and Seattle, Washington.

Ron grew up on a farm in Rush Lake, Saskatchewan; he served overseas as a pilot with the RCAF and then flew with Air Canada for 32 years. Ron was an active member of the Rotary Club since 1962. He was the past president of the Streetsville, Ontario Club in 1972-73 and joined the White Rock Rotary Club in 1980. Ron was a dedicated member of St. Mark's Anglican Church for 23 years and was a long time choir member. Many happy hours were spent on the golf course with his friends. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held at St. Mark's Anglican Church, 20th Ave., Ocean Park on Monday, December 8, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. The family wishes to express its heartfelt thanks to the staff of the Palliative Care Unit at Peace Arch Hospital for their wonderful care and compassion. In lieu of flowers, friends may make a donation to the Palliative Care Unit at the Peace Arch Hospital or the White Rock Hospice Society.
