Dim irksome lights at night

Editor,

Light pollution is harmful.

It is bothersome to humans, but deadly for birds. Millions of waterfowl and songbirds die during migration because excess exposure to artificial light disrupts biological clocks.

Artificial light can cause earlier arrival before food sources are available.

Nocturnal migraters depend on stars to guide flight.

Lights in tall buildings cause confusion and often legal collisions.

Spring migration begins soon.
