LETTER: Two wrongs don’t make a right on climate change

Editor,

Two wrongs do not make it right! Saying Canada’s leadership on climate change should be trees because China and India are worse is outrageous. The April 18 letter from Rev. Hird shows it’s so ill-informed, ill-advised and, from a faith person, shocking. “Turn the other cheek” is what I learned at church. Do better.

Followed by MP Findlay’s selective campaign slogan sales opinion on LNG profits, free market Conservative ideology axes and unreliable “opinion polls” without context or who’s (Conservative pollsters?) shows cash flow is more important than climate change and its evident consequences. How would Cons shift high-profit business free market and public behaviours to actually reduce carbon/climate change?

Hope the patterns of “attack the person (J.T.), not the policy” does not push MP and social media trolls to personally attack me. My neighbours are more afraid to engage/speak up because of the uncivil behavior we witness on TV’s Question Period clips.

Few ever respond to opt-in tech/phone polls.

Constructive feedback or analysis will be more useful. What legislation can better leverage innovation for more pollution decline and actually address very real climate changes?
