Editor,
I am once again writing the editor to complain deeply about the overuse of leaf blowers in White Rock/South Surrey.
I’m sure I’m not the only one that has had their fill of listening to these loud, polluting gas machines on a daily basis. Not one day goes by that isn’t filled with the loud and annoying sound that these machines make.
I really thought that B.C. cared about the environment more than this.
To constantly bombard us with this noise and pollution is beyond my thinking.
Every condo complex has a landscaping company that comes on a weekly basis and continues to use these machines on a regular weekly basis, doing nothing more than blowing a few leftover leaves, dirt and dust around.
Even in the summer, trying to sit and relax on your balcony, you are continually disrupted by the loud annoyance of these machines. I really believe the time has come to ban the leaf blowers, except for a quick fall clean-up.
There is no need to keep using these machines.
Other cities have managed to ban them, and seem to be doing fine without them.
