Former Peace Arch News publisher Linda Klitch has been honoured posthumously with the Eric Dunning Integrity Award.

The Peace Arch News has been nominated for a pair of Ma Murray Community Newspaper Awards, and late publisher Linda Klitch has been awarded another.

Klitch, who passed away in September 2011 after complications from surgery for a benign tumour in her pancreas, was named the recipient of the B.C. and Yukon Community Newspapers Association’s Victoria Gold Corp. Eric Dunning Integrity Award.

The Integrity Award is given to an individual who has “demonstrated moral soundness” and has made a strong contribution to the industry, the community and fellow citizens.

Peace Arch News’ Kerry Farrell has been nominated for an ad design award, for The Shops at High Street. PAN is also one of three nominees in Newspaper Excellence for its circulation size. Several of its sister papers are also in the running for awards, including the Surrey/North Delta Leader, Abbotsford News, Burnaby NewsLeader and Richmond Review.

The Ma Murray Award winners are to be announced April 20 during an event at Richmond’s River Rock Casino.
