Caregiver support

The Alzheimer Society of B.C. is hosting a series of educational workshops for people interested in learning effective ways to care for someone with Alzheimer disease or related dementia. Those who missed the first in the Family Caregiver Series March 2 can still register for the four remaining sessions, March 10, 17, 24 and 31. Topics to be covered in the 2½-hour workshops include how to communicate more effectively; creative solutions to behaviours – coping skills and tips; community resources – navigating the system; and caregiver stress – self-care. The sessions run from 1 to 3:30 p.m. at Crescent Gardens, 1222 King George Blvd. Cost is $40 per person, and handouts are included. Refreshments will be served.
