A holiday tradition aimed at serving up the season for those who might otherwise not have a Christmas dinner is set for Wednesday, Dec. 7 at Elgin Park Secondary.
The 12th annual Christmas Community Dinner will provide a festive meal for up to 150 people; from seniors who have no family in town to low-income families.
Teacher sponsor Sinead Hibbert said more than 200 students and staff at EPS pitch in to make the evening a success – from preparing the food, to decorating and serving.
The evening includes dinner, dessert and entertainment.
Held at the 13484 24 Ave. school, dinner will be served at 5:30 p.m.; doors open at 5 p.m., and the event wraps up at 7:30 p.m.
Those planning to attend are asked to RSVP before Dec. 1 to reserve a seat. Call 604-538-6678 between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Monday to Friday.
Attendees must also arrange their own transportation to and from the event.
