Gaming grants help community organizations

More than $260,000 awarded to organizations that provide aid to Surrey residents, according to news release.

More than $260,000 in gaming grants from the provincial government will help a number of organizations offer services to Surrey residents.

The announcement was made by Surrey-Tynehead MLA Amrik Virk and Surrey-Cloverdale MLA Stephanie Cadieux last week in a news release.

The B.C. government awarded funds to the B.C. Intermediate Lacrosse League, the Lower Fraser Valley Exhibition Association, the Vancouver Cantonese Orchestra, The Cloverdale Minor Softball Association, The Dynamo Swim Club, Peninsula Production Society and Surrey Canadian Baseball Association under the Arts and Culture Category of the Community Gaming Grant Program.

The program allows non-profit organizations to apply for provincial gaming revenues.
