Sight-seeing in White Rock just got a little more interesting, with the appearance of a grey whale in Semihamoo Bay.

The whale was spotted Monday morning (May 16) by a few residents and was still reported to be swimming around a few hours later.

The marine mammal may not hang around for long, however, as it is just passing through on its annual spring migration.

Grey whales swim north along Canada’s west coast each spring as they head toward the Bering Sea after wintering and calving off the coast of Baja California and Mexico.
