A library chat service that enables patrons to pose questions to facilities including those in Surrey and White Rock relaunched this week across southwest B.C.

Just Ask! is available from public library websites, between 10 a.m. and 8 p.m. Monday to Thursday, and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Fridays.

B.C. libraries provided chat service from 2006 to June 2010 with funding from the provincial government. Staff in Public Library InterLINK’s partner libraries worked to create the new chat service.

The free service “puts a world of information just a mouse-click away,” said Sharon Freeman, board chair of Public Library InterLINK.

For a list of libraries offering chat service, visit www.interlinklibraries.ca or look for a chat box or link on individual library sites.
