Historically featuring a blue sky, glistening water and an ocean-side breeze, those attending the White Rock Sea Festival this weekend experienced a more nebulous reception.
Despite a cloud of smoke that dimmed the sun, hundreds of families still made an effort to enjoy the activities at White Rock’s waterfront for opening day of the festival.
Festivities kicked off Saturday morning and will contiune until a firework display at 10 p.m.
Activities continue Sunday (Aug. 6) at both east and west beaches. The ever popular Waiter’s Race begins at 3 p.m. Aug. 6 at the White Rock Museum and the Torchlight Parade will take over Marine Drive from 8:15-11 p.m. Sunday night.
