The Great Pumpkin Run Walk is fast approaching – and has a new title sponsor, too.

The Peace Arch Hospital and Community Health Foundation’s annual fundraiser – now in its seventh year – is set for Oct. 20, and will be sponsored this year by National Bank Financial.

Organizers are hoping this year’s event, in which many runners and walkers dressing up in zany Halloween costumes, will see more than 1,000 participants and raise $100,000. The event features both one- and five-km routes around the hospital.

“Everyone is welcome and can make a difference in the community,” said returning event co- chair, Donna Beaton. “Bring the kids in strollers, bring your well-behaved dogs, dress up in fun costumes and enjoy a morning of outside activity for a great cause.”

The Pumpkin Run will include prizes for participants, including first-place finishers, top fundraisers, best costumes and more. There will also be an early-bird draw for participants who register by Saturday, Aug. 31.

Deadline for online registration and donation collection is Oct. 17 at 5 p.m. For more information, visit or call 604-535-4520.
