The past-president of Rotary International will be making a stop on the Semiahmoo Peninsula Thursday.
Richard D. King will speaking to residents and fellow Rotarians at Eaglequest Golf Course in Surrey; more than 200 people are expected to attend.
According to a release, the event is aimed at “educating residents about the positive impacts local Rotary members have had in our communities, encourage them to get involved and take on a ‘service-above-self’ mantra in life.”
King is a member of the Rotary Club of Niles-Fremont in California.
The event begins at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are nearly sold out, but some still may be available last-minute. For tickets ($30), email king@centralcityrotary.com.
