Surrey-White Rock-Cloverdale MP Russ Hiebert stopped by Bayridge Elementary in South Surrey last week, where students in Grades 5-7 took part in the Super Science Challenge.
The experiment – fruit DNA extraction with shampoo – was taught and supervised by Simon Fraser University students Nicole Bance, Michelle Tsang and Ann Clifton, and marked National Science and Technology Week.
It gave Bayridge students the opportunity to observe the web-like nature of banana DNA.
