Kent Street Activity Centre 2023 memberships are on sale and membership is in effect until Dec. 31, 2023.
Memberships can be purchased at the Kent Street Activity Centre, White Rock Community Centre and Centennial Park Leisure Centre and online at whiterockcity.ca/register.
The benefits of membership include participation in 17 different activity groups and membership pricing for all Kent Street Activity Centre special events and 55+ excursions. Drop in to any activity group three times as a guest before taking out a membership.
Ask for your guest pass at the front office.
• The Kent Street Coffee Shop is now closed and volunteers and our cook Laurie are enjoying a well-deserved break. The kitchen will reopen Jan. 9, 9:30 a.m. -1:30 p.m. with a wonderful selection of fresh-baked goodies, soups, sandwiches and frozen meals.
• Many Kent Street Activity groups will be taking a break during the holidays and will resume their activities the first two weeks of the New Year. Please call 604-541-2199 for more specific information on when each group will be starting up in January.
• The Kent Street Activity Centre excursion program is in full force for the New Year. Many fun excursions are being offered and some still have space for more registrations.
On Jan. 8, visit the Brooksdale Environmental Centre and learn about the art of “quick pickling,” plus take home a jar of handmade goodness and a bundle of veggies to use for your next cooking project. Call 604-541-2199 to register.
• The first excursion to Tea and Trumpets at the Orpheum Theatre in Vancouver is on Thursday, Jan. 26. Spend an afternoon of musical celebration with the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra. Call 604-541-2199 to register.
• Are you looking to learn some basic Spanish for your next travel adventure? Sign up now for a six-week beginner Spanish program at the Kent Street Activity Centre Thursdays, Jan. 26, 11 a.m. to noon. Call 604-541-2199 to register.
• Wednesday evening dances at the Kent Street Activity Centre are finished for the year and will be returning on Jan. 11.
If you enjoy dancing to live music, you will want to come down and check us out. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. with dancing from 7 to 9:30 p.m. Call 604-541-2199 for more information.
• The Kent Street Activity Centre will be closed Dec. 24-27 but will be open 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Dec. 28, 29, 30. Regular hours will resume on Tuesday, Jan. 3.
