SENIORS SCENE: Luncheons, dances wrapping up for summer

With summer around the corner, a few things are winding down at Kent Street Activity Centre

Kent Street Activity Centre has two exciting excursions in July that still have a few seats available.

On July 11, visit the Britannia Mine Museum, a National Historic site with awe-inspiring sights and memorable experiences. So much to see and do, including a private, guided tour and lunch.

On July 12, all foodies are invited for an Olympic Village Food Adventure. Stops include the trendy Beaucoup Bakery, Urban Fare and Whole Foods.

Discover the latest food trends with Pat Faulkner. This trip includes a guided tour, food samples and lunch.

• More and more ladies are discovering the fun game of snooker.

Ladies 55 and over of all skill levels are encouraged to drop down to the Kent Street Activity Centre snooker room during regular operating hours. Give us a call at 604-541-2231 for more.

Remember, if you’re not sure if snooker is the activity for you, drop in three times and try it out free before purchasing a membership.

• Are you finding aging challenging? We know that we can’t change the fact that the clock is ticking, but we can change the way we feel about it.

EFT/Tapping is an easy-to-learn tool that will change the way you think and feel.

Learn new tricks and expand your project repertoire at the Peninsula Woodcarvers activity group that meets at Semiahmoo Secondary woodshop on Tuesdays, 6-9 p.m.

• Fresh & Lively Luncheons are ending this month and will resume in September.

Enjoy delicious food with new friends and fantastic entertainment.

The next luncheon is June 7 and transportation is available to help those who are unable to make it to the Kent Street Activity Centre on their own.
