The Salmon Habitat Restoration Program (SHaRP) and Surrey’s Natural Areas Partnership (SNAP) will be joined by community volunteers this weekend for a habitat restoration event at Hyland Park.

The Aug. 13 effort will see the removal of invasive morning glory and the planting of native species along Hyland Creek’s banks.

Along with performing stream stewardship, the two youth environmental groups will work towards restoring habitat value for fish, birds and other wildlife.

The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the 6543 140 St. park.
