Surrey to offer insights on lifeguard training

The City of Surrey is offering free information sessions for young people curious about becoming a lifeguard/swim instructor.

The City of Surrey is offering free, one-hour information sessions for young people curious to know what’s required to become a lifeguard/swim instructor.

The sessions, which start Monday, Sept. 7 – with one at the South Surrey Indoor Pool to be held Oct. 5 – will explain all the required courses to become a lifeguard, pre-requisites, how high school students can earn school credits and aquatic volunteer opportunities.

Parents are welcome to attend the 6-7 p.m. sessions; pre-registration is required.
