Virtual meetings

Larry Colero, Green Party of Canada candidate for South Surrey-White Rock-Cloverdale, would like to know what’s on your mind. That’s why he’s scheduling a series of virtual town hall meetings, on Tuesday evenings from 7 to 8 p.m. and Sunday afternoons from 2 to 3 p.m. Telephone/online technology will allow participants to speak from their own homes ,and  the meetings are aimed at establishing an open conversation with voters in the ridings on such topics as the future of democracy in Canada, the federal deficit, and oil tankers sailing past White Rock and Crescent Beach – or whatever other political issues participants would like to see discussed.

“Whatever your issue, he’re your chance to speak up,” Colero said, adding that the events will not serve as campaign speeches, but rather as open dialogues with participants.

New topics are welcomed at the start of each call, he said, provided they relate to Canada as a whole or the impacts of federal government on our community.

“You’ll be able to speak briefly to everyone else, discuss your topic of interest in smaller break-out groups or simply listen as long as you like,” Colero said.

Participants must register before their call starts to obtain a personal phone-in number (and an option log-in ID to see instant poll results and video segments online).
