War-years history on display

White Rock Museum & Archives to feature Lest We Forget exhibit

White Rock residents and visitors interested in the city’s war-years history are invited to explore an exhibit running at the White Rock Museum & Archives through Nov. 18.

Lest We Forget is a display of artifacts, archival photos and drawings from the museum’s collection, along with a series of letters sent to and from Canadians at war, letters from White Rock soldiers overseas and newspaper articles published in The Semiahmoo Sun during the Second World War.

“The war years seriously affected the lives of all Canadians,” a Nov. 8 news release announcing the exhibit states. “Thousands of fathers, husbands, sons, mothers and daughters served their country. Some were killed in action, others wounded – many returned changed forever.”

The museum is located at 14970 Marine Dr.
