In March, 16 students from Surrey's Elgin Park Secondary traded their spring break for shovels and cement, and took off for Nicaragua to build a school with Me to We (Free the Children).

Working in the tiny town of Los Campos, the students – and their teacher chaperones – laid the foundation for a badly needed Grade 2 classroom, in a community where children are currently forced to walk four kilometres to the nearest school.

(The full story ('A Week to Remember') was published by the Peace Arch News on March 27.)

One of the volunteers, Grade 12 Elgin student Andy Tang (YouTube user star7wars7), edited the videos above and below. They've been shared on YouTube and were also shared with his classmates' parents and families on Tuesday night, during an appreciation event and trip reunion at the Surrey school's library.

Enjoy.
