White Rock Baptist Church is celebrating 70 years of faithfulness this Sunday (April 21).

The anniversary theme recognizes God’s faithfulness as well as the faithfulness of congregations as they supported the mission of the church throughout the years, a release notes.

All are welcome to come to the 10 a.m. service at the church, located at 1657 140 St.

The service will include video greetings from some former staff now in England, France, South Africa and Saskatchewan.

The service will be followed by a pot luck lunch with a program highlighting a few stories from the past.

A painting of the church by White Rock artist Vojislav Morosan will also be on display at the lunch. Known for painting many local landmarks, he passed away in 2008, and his wife Norma, recently donated the painting to the church.

“We’re blessed to be able to celebrate 70 years of serving the White Rock and South Surrey community,” senior pastor Brian Louw said in the release.

“Over the years, we’ve been able to partner with many amazing community organizations in doing good beyond the walls of our church. It’s our hope that just as we’ve experienced God’s love, we’d be able to share love with those around us for many years to come.”
