White Rock RCMP are once again impressed with the giving spirit of people who live on the Semiahmoo Peninsula and thank everyone who helped make their annual clothing drive another success.

“White Rock RCMP want to extend our gratitude to our community who donated so generously to our 6th annual clothing drive this year. We collected so much warm clothing and over $1,300.00 that we donated to Sources BC, which will help local families here,” said a White Rock RCMP release.

The release noted that, after being approached by staff from some White Rock schools, a second initiative was run, as they heard there were children who were still in need of proper clothing.

“With generous partnerships from Not For Long Boutique, Canadian Tire, Sport Chek and Safe(r) Schools, together we were able to make sure 20 elementary school aged children had proper footwear, jackets and hoodies,” the RCMP release said.

“The saying ‘it takes a village’ was definitely experienced these past few weeks and we are so happy that a lot of our local children have been cared for. Thank you again and happy holidays to everyone!”
