Birding enthusiasts may want to flock south of the border next month, for the 14th annual Wings Over Water Northwest Birding Festival in Blaine.

The March 11-13 festival – which celebrates bird species that visit Blaine, Birch Bay and Semiahmoo, along the Pacific Flyway – offers birding activities ranging from nature cruises and kids fun to workshops and expert speakers.

An all-day birding expo at Blaine Middle School (975 H St.) is also part of the weekend.

Keynote speaker for the festival will be international birder James Currie.
