Landscapes will be the focus of Delta Photo Club’s final workshop of the 2023/24 season.
DPC is presenting “Technique, Vision and Processing of Landscape Scenes” by acclaimed professional photographer Nic Stover (stoverphoto.com/portfolio) on Wednesday, May 1 from 7:30-9:30 p.m. via Zoom.
“As nature photographers, we all strive to create impactful images that express who or why we photograph,” reads the event description. “This presentation focuses on the techniques Nic uses to capture some of his more impactful images, what the vision was for the scene, and the processing techniques he used or didn’t use.”
Workshop participants will learn ways to look at their own work differently, discover new places and have greater confidence to express themselves in new ways.
Points to be covered include best practices for in-field capture, special considerations for scene-specific captures, a review of how to overcome some of the challenges in fainter light and higher-detail scenes, a dive into case studies of some of Stover’s most iconic images, and takeaways for working a scene to bring your vision to life.
Those wishing to attend the workshop must either be a club member (sign up at deltaphotoclub.com/member-sign-up-form, cost is $40/year for individuals, $70 for families and $25 for youth and students) or sign up to join as a guest (tickets are $10, payable by e-transfer to treasurer_membership@deltaphotoclub.com).
