White Rock Gallery is highlighting the work of artist Rick Bond this month.
The artist will appear at the gallery today (Thursday, Sept. 14) from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and will be speaking at 6:45 p.m.
In an artist’s statement release Bond said the series of paintings came from spending time in the Okanagan, this spring in and around Madeira Park on the Sunshine Coast and this summer in Ucluelet.
The show will be on display until Sept. 24 at the gallery, 1247 Johnston Rd.
In painting nature in his bold, simplified style, Bond said he sees the world as “an empty canvas, full of possibilities, in forms and stories, the manifestations of energy in constant movement and change.”
