UPDATE Sat May 18, 9:25 a.m.:

“The Pattullo Bridge will be open northbound into New Westminster tonight as the work listed below has been completed early,” said TransLink in a media release Saturday (May 18).

Original story:

The Pattullo bridge will only be open to southbound traffic from New Westminster overnight Friday (May 17) and Saturday (May 18).

The closures will be in effect from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

The bridge will remain open to pedestrians, cyclists, and first responders at all times.

The closures are part of the Pattullo Bridge replacement project. “Crews will be lifting steel girders between foundations near the existing bridge in Surrey,” reads a TransLink media release Tuesday (May 14).

Drivers travelling to New Westminster from Surrey are encouraged to take the Port Mann or Alex Fraser bridges instead.

The N19 NightBus trips that are impacted by the lane closures will be rerouted over the “Alex Fraser and Queensborough bridges between New Westminster and Scott Road stations. Customers should plan for up to 30 minutes of additional travel time,” said TransLink in a news release.

The N19 NightBus into Surrey will not be impacted by these closures.
