A BC Highway Patrol officer was hit by a car on Highway 91 in Delta Saturday (Feb. 17).

The incident happened around 10:30 am, just past the 72 Ave exit.

A Black Press freelancer at the scene said a member of the BC Highway Patrol had pulled over a vehicle “when the suspect fled, and the RCMP officer was struck and possibly dragged.”

The officer was transported to the hospital with injuries believed to be non-life-threatening, said the freelancer.

The driver who fled the scene is wanted on an outstanding B.C.-wide warrant.
