A rollover crash on 192nd Street at about 76th Avenue had a rural road closed for Monday evening as police investigated what witnesses are saying was a hit and run just before 8 p.m.
The occupants of the rolled vehicle, a woman and three passengers, were checked over by emergency personnel while Surrey fire crews awaited the arrival of the RCMP.
Two young men on scene said they heard the crash and got in their pickup truck, trying to follow the driver who left the scene.
They lost sight of what they said was a van involved and returned to the crash scene to speak to the police.
Several other people on scene also spoke to the RCMP.
The Surrey RCMP is looking for a light blue van that left after the crash. It is believed to have been driven by a male.
The police would like to hear from anyone with information on this incident who has not already been in touch.
It is a crime to leave the scene of an accident even when there are no injuries and the driver is more likely to face stiffer penalties than if he or she remained at the scene, Surrey RCMP said.
