Surrey was the site of two serious collisions on Sunday, less than an hour apart from one another.
Police in Surrey responded to a collision on March 31 at about 1:40 a.m. on 132 Street, involving a Dodge Challenger and a Tesla, according to a Surrey RCMP release.

“The occupants of the Challenger fled the collision scene on foot. The driver of the Tesla has been transported to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries,” it said.
Not long afterwards, on 152 Street on 69 Avenue another collision occurred between two vehicles at about 2:20 a.m.
Occupants of the Range Rover, which likely rear-ended the Mistubishi Lancer, also fled on foot, according to police. The driver of the Mistubishi is experiencing life-threatening injuries due to the collision, while a passenger had “minor injuries.”
Later in the day, the driver of the Range Rover turned himself in and was arrested for dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing bodily harm and failure to remain after an accident causing bodily harm, according to a Surrey RCMP release.
The driver has been released pending charge approval.
