The White Rock Tritons earned a split over a four-game homestand at South Surrey Athletic Park last weekend.
On Saturday, the home side lost its opening game, 7-0, against the North Delta Blue Jays, before rebounding in the second contest, winning 14-3.
Sunday was much the same for the under-18 BC Premier Baseball League crew, as they dropped Game 1 to the Abbotsford Cardinals 7-6 before winning the nightcap by the same score.
The two wins gave the Tritons a win-loss record of 10-17, which is good for 10th out of 12 teams. However, they’re just a game-and-a-half back of Coquitlam, who hold the final playoff spot.
The weekend was highlighted by Saturday afternoon’s 14-run explosion, which was capped by Quin Hall’s third home run of the season. Hall is now tied with North Shore slugger Brandon Currie for the league-lead in home runs. In the same game, Jansen Crossley went three-for-four with four RBI, while Anthony Walcott had three RBI.
