One person is facing charges of attempted murder and aggravated assault following an incident between family members at a South Surrey home Wednesday.
Surrey RCMP Cpl. Scotty Schumann confirmed police were called to a home in the 12500-block of 24 Avenue around 7:30 a.m. July 27.
“We have a serious assault between two family members,” Schumann told Peace Arch News Thursday.
“The type of assault was such that it could’ve turned out badly for the victim.”
Schumann said the incident occurred between two adult members of one family, but he would not disclose any further details – including age or gender – citing the victim’s privacy.
He would also not disclose if a weapon was involved.
The accused was arrested at the scene, and remains in custody; the victim was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, Schumann said.
The public is not at risk, he added.
“No risk to the public, and there wasn’t at that time either,” Schumann said.
