HandyDart users can add a bit more spontaneity to their trip planning starting Monday.
As of May 1, the deadline to book a trip for the next day will be extending from noon to 4 p.m.
TransLink CEO Kevin Desmond said this is the first issue the company’s tackling from a list of recommendations found through a year-long review on transit service delivery.
Desmond said extending the booking deadline comes at no extra cost to customers or the company, but will hopefully make a difference for its riders.
“It gives people a little more room to plan their next day,” he said.
TransLink hopes to take the booking process one step further and become available online by the end of the year to early 2018. Other recommendations proving to need a bit more planning includes reducing wait times for riders and committing to a standard travel time.
“That’s an example of something we still need to do,” Desmond said. “We aspire to doing it.”
