Prominent former TV journalist Jas Johal has been acclaimed to run as a BC Liberal party candidate in Richmond-Queensborough in the provincial election next May.
Johal, a former Global TV reporter with more than two decades of experience, left journalism in 2014 to become communications director of the B.C. LNG Alliance, a role he left last month.
He also served a one-year term as a government-appointed director on the board of the Fraser Health Authority in 2015-16.
Johal is just one of the high-profile candidate landed by the BC Liberals.
Veteran businesswoman Tracy Redies, former CEO of Coast Capital Savings, is running in Surrey-White Rock.
