A man died after being shot in his home Sunday night.

A man was shot and killed in his North Surrey residence on the weekend.

Just before 10 p.m. on Sunday, police responded to calls of shots fired in the 14000 block Grosvener Road in Surrey.

Police arrived with ambulance attendants, who found a 31-year-old man bleeding and unresponsive in his home.

He died at the scene.

There was also a 18-year-old living there, who witnessed the shooting. She is being cooperative with investigators.

On Monday, the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team along with Surrey RCMP were canvassing the neighbourhood for any witnesses.

Cpl. Drew Grainger said the shooting has none of the earmarks of a gang shooting, but said it was targeted.

Police are describing the investigation as in the very early stages and are not releasing a name until the man's family has been notified.

Grainger did say multiple shots were fired, and that while the death is tragic, it's fortunate that no one else in the duplex was harmed.
