Surrey firefighters raced to the Hazelmere RV Park & Campground for the second time in two weeks Saturday, after a fire broke out in a fifth-wheel trailer.

According to witnesses, the blaze started while the trailer’s occupant was out for a walk.

Surrey Fire Services’ Chief Ron Cross said the fire was reported just before 3 p.m. May 21.

Firefighters and equipment from at least six halls were dispatched to the 18843 8 Ave. scene.

“We make sure that we send a lot of water to make sure that the equipment that’s there will have enough water to put the fire out,” Cross explained.

No one was injured and cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Cross said investigation into a May 7 fire at the park is also ongoing.

In that incident, a 35- to 40-foot fifth-wheel suffered extensive damage.
