A vehicle is seized after two people were taken into custody in White Rock Wednesday afternoon.

Two people are in custody following a traffic stop in White Rock Wednesday that police say resulted in the seizure of suspected illicit drugs and cash.

Const. Chantal Sears said the "dramatic" incident unfolded around 2:30 pm, after she noticed a suspicious vehicle in the 15400-block of 16A Avenue in South Surrey.

"It happened pretty fast," Sears said, noting the vehicle occupants were initially uncooperative. They were pulled over in White Rock on North Bluff Road (16 Avenue), just east of Best Street (154 Street).

"I had my gun out because he wasn't obeying police commands," she said.

A man and a woman, described as Surrey residents in their 30s, were taken into custody.

A red vehicle, cellphones, suspected cocaine and heroin and a quantity of cash were seized.

Sears said investigation is ongoing and charges are expected.
