BYLAW 2459 - A Bylaw to Amend the Rules of Procedure for Council and Committee

NOTICE is hereby given that pursuant to Section 124 of the Community Charter, the City of White Rock Council will be considering an amendment to “Council and Committee Procedure Bylaw, 2021, No. 2393” at the regular meeting to be held Monday, April 17, 2023 at 7:00 p.m. in the City Hall Council Chambers located at 15322 Buena Vista Avenue, White Rock, B.C.

Purpose: The Council and Committee Procedure Bylaw establishes the general procedures to be followed by Council and Council Committees in conducting their business. Proposed amendments to Bylaw 2459 include:

Meeting Times

  • Regular Council meeting to start at 4:00 p.m.
  • All business will go to the Regular Council meeting (removing Standing Committee meetings such as Land Use and Planning, Finance and Audit and Governance and Legislation Committee)

Council Voting Dashboard

  • To be updated on a monthly basis as staff resources permit to do so

Conduct and Debate

  • Standard wording added to ensure fair conduct of debate and that Council members are provided with the same amount of time to speak to an item

Minor amendments in terms of numbering, removal of redundant wording and some corrections regarding grammar
