It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Aleen on Friday, March 9th, at Peace Arch Hospital, after a long life well lived. She was 97.

Born in Newcastle-on-Tyne, England, Aleen met and married husband Walter ("Wally") while working in the Signal Corps during the Second World War, and came to Canada as a War Bride, where they began their life together in Montreal.

Raising their three daughters (Anne, Joyce, and Karen) together in Chalk River, Ontario in a home they built themselves, Aleen and Wally followed their eldest out West, and retired in White Rock to spend their Golden Years with family.

Aleen is survived by youngest daughter Karen (John); sons-in-law Sze-Yin (Anne) and Bryan (Joyce); seven grandchildren (James, Jennifer, Michael, Mark, David, Catherine, and Jillian), and seven great-grandchildren (Amelia, Walker, Henry, Cale, Colton, Emily, and Max).

She was predeceased by Wally, Anne, and Joyce.

She will remain forever with us in spirit.
