STEWART, Alexander J.D.

Alex passed away peacefully November 22, 2008 in White Rock, B.C. Alex was predeceased by his wife and mother of his children, Gwen, in July 1994 and by his second wife, Elizabeth Fehr in November 2002.

Alex was born in Vancouver, B.C., May 4, 1914. He grew up in Huxley, Alberta and Surrey, B.C. He farmed in Hazelmere Valley, South Surrey for many years and later sold general insurance for L.K. Sully Co. and the Jeff's Agencies in White Rock. Alex and Gwen had a passion for travel. In their retirement they travelled to almost every province and every U.S. state.

He is survived by his loving family; daughters Rose Marie Janzen (Henry), Agnes Stevens, Sharon Block (Harry), Pearl Needham (Richard), Lois Nazaroff (Mike) and son Al Stewart (Kim), 14 grandchildren, and 5 great grandsons. He is also survived by the loving family of his second wife, Beth.

The family would like to especially thank the caring staff at Westminster House where Alex made his home during his last year and a half. A memorial service will be held at White Rock Baptist Church at the corner of 16th Ave. and 140th St. on Saturday November 29, at 2 PM. A reception will follow with refreshments and time for sharing memories. If desired, donations may be made to World Vision or Samaritan's purse.
