Anton B.C. (Tom). December 24, 1904 – March 26, 2004. Anton Schlicter, a beloved and respected life-long friend, patriarch and bon viveur passed away peacefully at the Peace Arch District Hospital Friday night.
Anton, known as Tom, emigrated to this side of the Atlantic, from Holland as a young man and rode the range in Mexico and the United States before coming to Canada. He made his way to Montreal, met his late-wife, Anita, and rose from an entry-level job in the accounting department at McGill University to the top financial job of Comptroller, which position he occupied until his retirement.
Tom and Anita tried retirement in Switzerland for a few years, but missed Canada so much they came back and settled in White Rock.
A Memorial Service will not be held at his request.
