DICK, Barney. Born in 1921 in Hastings, Ontario, gently passed away on June 25, 2011, at 90 years young. She passed away peacefully with her family by her side. A great friend to many, Barney will be missed and forever loved by her family and friends. In 1940, Barney graduated from nursing school. She worked as a nurse for a short period of time, and then worked as a Stewardess on TCA (Trans Canada Airlines) for a number of years. She is predeceased by her loving husband Bob and brothers Pat and George. Lovingly remembered by her sisters Mary and Ann, and her children, son Jim, daughter Robbi and son-in-law Glenn, daughter Patti and son-in-law Paul, daughter Debbie, and granddaughters Amy and Sarah. Barney was a loving, caring woman devoted to her daughter Debbie, family and many friends. She will be greatly missed, but we take comfort knowing Mom and Dad are finally together again. The family would like to thank Dr. Elizabeth Cant and the staff at Peace Arch Hospice for their excellent care and exceptional kindness during her time in their care. Family and friends will gather for a private celebration of her life. In lieu of flowers, donations to Semiahmoo House Society would be greatly appreciated.
